Fulham Come from Behind to Win Against Farense in Pre-Season Friendly
Fulham secured a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Portuguese outfit Farense in their final pre-season fixture of the club's training camp in Portugal on Saturday.
Fulham found themselves trailing at the interval after Farense struck first in the opening half, forcing the Premier League side to mount a response after the restart. Their breakthrough arrived when Emile Smith Rowe was brought down inside the penalty area, with Alex Iwobi confidently stepping up to take responsibility from the spot.
The Super Eagles star made no mistake, calmly sending the goalkeeper the wrong way before drilling his penalty into the corner to draw Fulham level and swing the momentum in his side's favour. Buoyed by the equaliser, Fulham dominated the closing stages as they searched for a winner, and their persistence was rewarded in dramatic fashion just before full-time.
In the 89th minute, Josh King was fouled inside the penalty area to hand the Cottagers another spot-kick. Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz converted with confidence, firing into the same corner as Iwobi to complete the turnaround and seal victory for the Premier League club.
