Fulham's former defender Abdeslam Ouaddou has reflected on his treble-winning success with Orlando Pirates. The Moroccan coach recently spoke to his former employers ahead of Morocco’s victory over the Netherlands in the round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
What happened?
Ouaddou starred for Fulham in the early 2000s as a defender. He reconnected with the Craven Cottage outfit for the first time since winning the treble with Pirates in his debut season in charge.
Why it matters for Fulham
Perhaps even more impressively, he masterminded the club’s first South African league title since the 2011/12 season, while also ending Mamelodi Sundowns’ unprecedented eight-year reign as the country’s champions.

Having won 58 caps for Morocco, Ouaddou was also asked about representing the Atlas Lions. He said: "I was born in Morocco, [but] I left Morocco when I was one year to go to France, and I lived all my life in France. But I have two countries in my heart. Actually, three! Morocco, France, and England!
As Fulham looks to build on their recent form, they will hope to carry the momentum into their next game, with the team currently sitting 33 points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
